Fabrication and installation of an architectural ceiling feature consisting of over 6,000 aluminum rods.
The fabrication of the feature ceiling required meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the 3D wave aesthetic designed by Allied Works would be executed exactly as intended. The wave itself is made up of 6,068 polished aluminum rods, each with its own custom machined main connection detail and redundant pin connector for the peace of mind that a rod will never fall during a performance. The bottom of each rod is found on the same plane, however the lengths of rods vary, creating the waved aesthetic on the upper surface. It’s the perfect accent to the architecture of the Studio Bell.
